  "DramaConsult" | 4.4.2014, 7.30 pm | Black Box/RW21, Bayreuth

As part of the international conference Cosmopolitan Cinema. Arts and Politics in the Second Modernity (3rd-5th of April, Universität Bayreuth) a screening of the documentary DramaConsult (2012, d: Dorothee Wenner) will take place in the Black Box of the city library (Richard-Wagner-Straße 21) on 4th of April 2014 at 7.30 pm. You are most welcome to join us for this event.
DramaConsult presents the journey of three businessmen from Lagos who are looking for investors and business partners in Germany. The film crew follows those three men and two advisors of the consulting agency DramaConsult, which had been fabricated for the movie, to meetings with bankers and potential investors from various business domains across Germany.
In the course of this, the film DramaConsult shows the clash of two cultures, which could not have been more different. It is a film about courage, willingness to learn and open-minded attitudes but also about doubts and skepticism. DramaConsult is an adventurous story in the age of a globalized world and it shows lively and entertainingly the journey from Africa to Germany to realize ideas and dealings.

There will be a Q&A with the director Dorothee Wenner after the film. Dorothee Wenner lives as an independent filmmaker, author and curator in Berlin. She frequently uses means of documentary staging in her films in order to blur borders of genre. She gained international reputation with her 2008 film Peace Mission in which the Nigerian film producer Peace Aniyam Fiberesiam gives an inside look into the Nigerian home movie industry called Nollywood.
